This is my 1971 Grabber Blue H code Mach 1. I bought in very good restored condition at the Harrisburg Mecum auction in July of 2015. It shows about 66,000 miles on the clock, believed to be original. I actually drove the car about 300 miles home from the auction without a single issue, a testament to the car's condition.

Neat fact, the car was sold new in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Same city where Mustang Sally was recorded.

Pictures can be seen in these Imgur albums:

Here are some restoration pictures from the previous owner:

Since getting it home, I have made a few changes. I thoroughly cleaned the interior. Originally it would have had a completely white interior, but that was replaced with some black panels during the restoration. I actually prefer the black and white look to the total white, and plan on keeping it that way.

Under the hood, I have replaced the stock 2 bbl carb with an Edelbrock 1806 650 CFM Thunder series. That sits on top of a Performer manifold. I have also replaced the points with a Pertronix Ignitor I module, added Ram Air, and replaced a slipped harmonic balancer with a PowerBond 1082ST Street Performance Balancer. Don't worry, all original parts have been kept to return to stock if that is ever desired.

Long term, I plan on pulling the engine and cleaning up the engine bay. The engine bay was left pretty much as-is during the restoration. With the engine pulled, I want to install a set of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and a mild cam. I don't want to go too crazy, but my research shows I should be able to get about 400 bhp with my planned upgrades. This will leave a matching numbers warmed over car that should be able to keep up with a lot of modern muscle.

My other summer car is a 1978 Datsun 280z. It was actually my first car. My dad and I did a full restoration on the car, with some modifications, during the winter of 2009. My dad is just as into cars as I am, with quite a collection of classic cars. He has a 1970 Mach 1 in the reverse color scheme to mine, white with a blue interior. We are also in the middle of a rotisserie restomod of a 1967 Cougar.

Here is a link to the Marti Report. It is one of 3 as optioned. It seems to have had an interesting history. It was a Fleet order and came with a Rental Speedometer Cog. It wasn't sold for almost 4 months after being completed. I have some of the original bill of sale paperwork, it shows no sign that it was a rental... I am not sure what to make of it. Potentially a dealer demo or a loaner car?
