71-72 Sport Lamp bulb: Industry # 94, Ford # DOSZ-13466-A.  It's a double contact clear bulb with approximately 32 CP. To my knowledge no one is making an exact replacement for the original socket. The early 71 sockets were metal and the later 71 and 72 sockets were plastic. Can't remember the number some forum members had found at some parts stores they were able to make work. You can try the search feature to see if you could bring those posts up.
You could also contact Don @ OMS, Mike @ Motorcity Mustang or Midlife to see if they might have some "Gently" used sockets that need a new home. Good Luck on your search!

NAPA Part LS6488 is a 3 wire type that can be adapted to 71/72's easily enough. Mac's 48-45082-1 is another 3 wire type that can be used.

I've found maybe 15% of the original sockets are still good: most have bad corrosion or contacts. It's a shitty design, IMHO.

I once posted a picture with the exact part number for sockets you could buy at NAPA. They are sockets for early 70s Lincoln side markers. They're not factory correct but they fit perfectly.
I'll look up my old post and get back to you.

Thank you everyone for the information!

Now do you know what the bulb number is?

Also is it Clear or Amber?

I don't have the number but mine are clear. But then, those were the ones available here in Europe.
The amber lenses make the sport lamps glow amber, so I don't think that you need amber bulbs but others may know better.

FWIW - you won't find them on a parts store shelf. Special order or get them online...

Standard #94: https://www.amazon.com/CEC-Industries-Bu...%2394+bulb

Halogen version, not sure if it might damage the lenses with the extra heat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/...dition=new

I'm just doing mine with a swap to LED's or SMD's They are a special bulb for sure, double contact and both pins or bayonets located at the bottom, same position, i.e. not staggered as in an 1157. One of the contact is a ground because of the plastic housing. The bulb number on my 71 is 1004. (if my tired old eyes are seeing it right!!)
Yes, definitely 1004 with CHINA!! In the 8+ years I've own this car, I have not replaced these bulbs. With CHINA on them, I doubt they are the originals, so at some point replacements likely were available.
Bill at HiPo Parts is working on this very bulb, but not in stock just yet, hopefully by spring.
