Lost my Damn Keys!!!
#1
I've had the 73 for over 10 years now and always said I should get an extra set of keys. Well, it finally happened..... Where are the keys? I dropped them somewhere on my travels yesterday. I will retrace my steps today but if I can't find them what do I do. Replacements are cheap but.....

How do you remove the ignition cylinder without the key? What about the trunk lock?

Call an automotive locksmith. In the end it will save wear and tear on the car, frustration, time, and money. Just my opinion. Chuck

A decent locksmith will use a blank working it back and forth in the lock. He will then use markings he gets from this procedure, grinding down with a file to make you new keys.

Much easier than removing the lock cylinders and replacing.

Went back to the vet where I brought my dog yesterday. The girl there pulled the keys out of her drawer... Thank God.

I had pulled the 73 out of the garage to work on the 53 truck I'm restoring. Put the keys in my pocket and drove my f150 all day, the truck has its own key chain. I must have pulled both sets of keys out of my pocket at the vet and never noticed the mustang keys fall to the ground.

Find some kind of plastic bob for each of your vehicles and attach to key rings. Lately I seem to find them in every grab bag at every event to the point that I toss out 99%.

If nothing else, they will keep you somewhat aware of what you are carrying. Also, I have one special Master key ring that never leaves the house...it is for emergency situations you just encountered.
