Just bought 2 Mustangs, Opinions
#1
Hello fellas,

I flew to Vegas and flew to Miami and bought me 2 Mustang.

Vegas: 1973 Mustang Convertible one owner with 23K miles 302 engine and 3 gear stick shift, interior seats is an added dealer option according the original invoice, reflects how in the past they liked their colors lol.

Miami: 1971 Mustang Mach 1 2 owner with pewter exterior and vermilion interior. M code, beautiful color combination. I know that 2nd owner added some minor cosmetics items that dont match the Marti or car but I liked them.

What yall think?

AHA! So you're the guy who bought the 'vert with the crazy upholstery. Awesome! thumb

Nice Mach 1, too. You sir, are a lucky man. I was flat-out forbidden to even think about a second project car (and I'm really wanting a 'vert now, too)... even after I offered to sell the Jeep. Still workin' on her... whistling

Both look great. Like I stated in other post get the Armor All off the vert all you can. If you want to do a test. Put Armor all on a piece of vinyl and leave in the sun. When it dries out do it again. After a while it will start to look milky and you cannot get it off. While visiting the Harrah's collection in Reno back in the 70's I ask them if they used it. The guy said Armor All was not allowed on the property and to never use it. They used Lexol a leather preservative on leather and vinyl. When I was in his collection he had over 3,200 restored cars hundreds of originals and hundreds waiting to be restored. His people did testing to find what worked.
The collection was sold off when the casinos were sold to Holiday Inn and they sold off the cars. Was a several day museum to visit but gone now.
So now you need to get that big garage going, lol.

Thank you David for the advises, I will take better pics of the top to see the color of the liner you asked, also what is the easiest way to take the armor off?

To remove the armor all with the least caustic method. A couple of light scrubbings with warm water and dawn dish soap. The dawn will eventually dissolve the oil and silicone residue after a couple of "LIGHT" scrubbings. Be sure to do a couple warm wet rags to make sure you get all of the dawn off though. Other items work but may damage the finish or plastic.
