January 2012 COTM! 73 Mach 1 COTM
#1
I bought my project last year after getting out of wrenching on classic cars for about 12 years. Wanting to relive my childhood, and show what I've learned over the years. I bought this 73 Mach 1 on E bay. And after I realized I had been royally screwed by the seller, but had found this websight, and realized we could make anything happen that we put our minds to. We decided we could make this happen.
This is not your typical Mustang get-together sight. I've made freinds, got fantastic feedback and heard from experts whos info is spot on in the areas I know nothing about and thought "What the Hell" Here's our submission and y'all can be the judge of how it turns out.

Hey Mark!! i´m glad you posted your fine lady to the COTM! Smile Wouldn´t hurt to read more from the story behind Tongue but that´s fine!!...

I just wanted to be part of the encouraging croud in here... COME ON!!!! you have a fine complete car!!... i bet in no time you´ll be riding her and enjoying every minute...

Let´s look closely at you VERY COMPLETE engine bay!... A great V8 with everything that supposed to be there Mark... That´s always crucial in order to face a restoration!... Besides we can also see the ORIGINAL COLOR in the fender mounting lips! No crashes noticed... Come on Mark!... this is a fine project and i know for a fact that you have a lot of creativity for the car and the project itself... So... be confident that if i could resucitate a mustang here in Uruguay, being that far, working in my spare hours in a very tinny garage and with no professional knowledge what so ever... Mark... not only you can do it but YOU WILL... trust me!...

Here i leave you the progress of one year of my work in my car..i hope it works like a bump forward for you Smile

This is November 2009 and that is how i recieve my car... In fact, it was much worst, covered with several years of dust and other doubtable things Tongue

And this is June 2011...

Wish mine looked as good as yours at this point, Mark. One thing I especially appreciate about this group is that you never get the vitrol I see in other forums. All questions and projects are met with courtesy and respect. It makes for a much better exchange when folks don't have to worry about getting belittled or insulted for their question, acquisition or technique.

A rare place, indeed.

Low buck, touring style, '73 Convertible "rolling restoration", 351c, 2v heads with a shave and a haircut, Performer intake, Holley 650(ish), roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, stainless valves, Duraspark / Motorsports MSD, T-5 conversion. 1-1/8" front, 3/4" rear swaybars KYB shocks and some home brewed subframe connectors. Future plans; JGC steering box, Cobra brakes and... paint, interior, etc.

When I die I want to die like grandpa, peacefully in my sleep... not screaming, like his passenger.
