Incorrect Sill Plates??
#1
Got these from Laurel Mountain Mustang. In the picture you see, the holes are lined up but notice the large gap that is still visible for the wire channel. Its like its not wide enough? anyone have these issues? Also notice the D4 part number on the bag. Anyone have pictutes of thier sill plates?

I do my friend... here´s another example of why i ABSOLUTELY HATE non NOS parts... I´m in Uruguay so any part i order is a 2 month wait and more that double the price i pay in the supplier in the USA... Imagine my face when i get a horrible repro, chinesse part like this!??... I just want to bomb Asia!! jeje....

I have this plate installed in my beautiful original mustang nowadays and i absolutely HATE that this plates are not even close than the original ones in terms of shape and design...

I bought them from NPD (another place to bomb... jeje) and with a lot of creativity I managed them to "fit" in the car in order to be better than nothing... But they are just not right....

I also have my original plates to restore so i definitely have to make me the necesary hours to restore them and then, use this repros to kill flys in the summer Tongue....

The guys there must know if there´s a good repro available but as far as i know, search for NOS plates or settle with something not right but eventually fitted Asian repros...

Thanks for posting the picture. I've been thinking about replacing mine, but maybe I'll just work on trying to shine mine up.

Well, there you have it! It says right there on the bottom left..."Made in Taiwan" You need to get the ones that say "Made in China" Completely different quality IMHO.

Based on information in the other threads, it looks as if you have the correct sill plates - just that the wiring channel is not covered by them (which is done with the factory cardboard covers and tucking the carpet under the sills - or, the much better idea you came up with). Wink
