Improved fuel sender replacements?
#1
Hey folks,

Now that my tank is out and I'm looking at what to replace I'm wondering if the stock fuel sender should be replaced and if so, by a similar sending unit or are there more accurate sending units available? Are you all happy with the stock-type? what kind is used in modern cars these days?

Cheers,
Vincent.

Vinnie, Unless you go to Fuel Injection, I have no idea what or even if there are other options for fuel sender, but recently there have been posts on this subject.
Here's what I did on my car's tank and fuel system upgrade;
Spectra Premium Fuel tank, F32A, made in Canada. Dorman 692-232 SS fuel sender unit. May need the arm tweaking for more accurate reading (as will most), Stainless steel fuel lines, Fuel injector grade rubber lines where needed, Proper fuel line fittings and hose clamps. NO gear clamps!!

Vinnie,

The only one i know is the stainless steel with brass float. I believe the ethanol enhanced fuels with eat up the brass. I had that problem. Check with OMS.

Thanks,
mustang7173 Thankyouyellow
