How to vote en the car of the month contest
#1
People, to put your vote on the COTM Spotlight Submissions you have to:

-Go to the page 1 of the thread and in the first post (the one in which the postulant explains the history and upload the first set of pics)

-In the bottom of the post you´re gonna find a "LIKE" buttom with the thumb up icon... You click there!

If you want to take your vote off for whatever reason, the same buttom turns into an "UNLIKE" with the thumb facing down....

Hope it helps!!!

There is also some more detailed info onhow the COTM works here:

So, get your votes in and we also need more submissions! Don't be shy, there is enough room in the spotlight for everyone! Cool

Of course Rocketfoot.. Besides the contest itself, this is a great way to show the other member the cars with a clear way to order the history behing our drives with the pictures of them... It let everyone get easily what is our "love" about...

If u have to say.. the cars i know the most are the other 2 ones published in the COTM... So... come on people... and you too come on Rocketfoot!! You have 2 great examples to participate! Smile

Suggestion:

It took me quite a while to find the "Like" Button in the COTM thread (it's next to the reply button). I would like to suggest to post a link to this thread and/or the FAQ thread in post number 2 above in the COTM section so it's easier to figure out.

Also most of the time when I come to the site I just click on new posts and read them all and don't pay attention to which topic the thread is in. Therefore I don't even realize the thread I am reading is actually a COTM thread and have not voted in the past (just thought they were an introduction or a regular post). Is there any way to make the COTM submission thread stand out differently or maybe make the "vote" button a lot bigger to grab members attention to remember to vote? Great site, Thanks!

You´re right in that.. the "like" buttom is not a lot visible and the pole is not that active to be on top of unread threads most of the days...

I don´t know the webmasters rules of this forum but hope Rocketfoot read your ideas because he is as far as i know, the one who does the webmasters job in here...

Thanks!!

Yeah, it is a camouflaged a little too well! LOL...the main reason it's like that is to avoid the hassle of adding a new poll every month. Otherwise, the only function the buttons serve is to help determine the order of the winners! Everyone who enters will eventually win a spot as COTM!

I'll look into it and see if I can make it a little more easier to figure out.

Great! Hopefully the vote count will pick up. I thinking about submitting my car too.

DO IT!!Smile

I´ve always said that this COTM is not only because of the contest itself... It is a great spot to post a resumate of your history with the car...

Pictures and you telling the story will also help every member to get familiar with you and your story... It is easier for everyone to actually know you..

Yes, do it! Like Damian said, it's about the cars, not so much the winners! We're all winners for having such cool cars, no matter if they are restored or in restoration! They are all cool! Big Grin
