#1
Help!! Could some please send me a pic of their Transmission Steering Wheel Lock Out Linkage Rod - on a Mustang Coupe 302 1973 C4 auto. Mine is missing and I have no idea what shape it is meant to be. Appears to be a few variations out there. Cheers.

a little caution.

not only is there different lockout rods depending on transmission.
but the transmission has to have the correct linkage.

99% of the time somebody came in and either swapped a trans or replaced it like going from a FMX to a C4 or C6 when that occured the steering lock had to be disabled because the linkage on the trans was no longer correct.

getting the correct rod is pretty easy, getting the correct transmission linkage is another story.

lets say you did get the correct linkage for the transmission assuming the incorrect version is currently on your car.
in order to install it, you must drop the transmission and basically take it 90% apart, droping the valve body taking the adjuster band out everything just so you can swap the linkage it is not easy and it was a project i gave up on.

another issue is the steering lock would sometimes jam up and cause all kinds of issues for the driver, and thus they would be disabled.
if somebody went to an aftermarket steering wheel then they steering lock would also be disabled.

so food for thought because somebody took it out for a reason, and i don't want you to waste money chasing down the correct linkage only to find you cannot use it, unless you really really want it back on the car.

what sucks is they never marked these parts with IDs so you have to know the shape you are looking for. or you chase down a complete parts car and drop the trans and take the rod and the trans with you. there are also some plastic bushings and cotter pins with Teflon washers you need but i don't know if it is sold on the reproduction market.

Just so there is no confusion the picture I posted depicts the shifter linkages which was to follow up the point raised in 72HCODE's post. The ebay link Chuck gave you is the lock out rod.
