HEATER HOSES
#1
Hey Friends!! How are you???

I´m about to connect the hoses between the water pump and the heater pipes in the cowl area...

I just dont know which pipe of the water pump goes into which pipe of the radiator hose... I´m not sure this really matters as the heater radiator seems to be so simple that i just dont think changing the circulation way of the water is a big deal, but I just wanted to connect everything correctly...

As i dont have pictures in here let´s say the following:

IN THE WATER PUMP:

Pipe A is the one on the spark plug side of the engine
Pipe B is the one in the exhaust side

IN THE COWL AREA:

Pipe C is the one closer to the apron
Pipe D is the one closer to the center of the engine bay

The question is which goes where!???

For the guys you dont know, my engine is an I6 250 on a sportsroof body!

Ok... Did this image that can help you to help me! Tongue

It doesn't realy matter , just what you already figured out.
It's a simple system , it always works.

+1 direction doesn't matter, layout the hoses so they are clean and simple and connect them.

Ok! and anyone has a clue if the connectors are just hoses or it should be some metal hose in the middle?
V8 cars usually have some tubes that are attached to the engine and the rubber hoses are not that long... In this I6, i dont really know but Barry´s car had only rubber hoses...

if you mean to use hose clamps to hold the hoses, yes use hose clamps.

Damian,

I do not know if the I-6 has intermediate pipes for the heater hose or not. Ole Pony should jump in and since he has the same layout and has had it since new he will be able to share some light and he is always ready to share a few pictures! One good guy that Rare Pony!

Yeah, mine were solid rubber hoses the whole way back. They were original until I cut them out!

LOL..yep, we fully intended to keep her original, but the seized engine had other ideas! If it would have spun over, it would be I6 all the way! Cool

I still have the I6 though! Does that count? Haha
