Ford manual torque specs wrong?
#1
Hi Everyone

I think the Ford manual specs might be wrong?  For the caliper shield bolts and caliper guide pin the manual has the spec at nearly double what ARP and other bolt manufacturers suggest.  I have broken one of each trying to torque the the correct spec.  Both were replacement bolts and the caliper was a grade 8 bolt. Not sure about the guide bolt.

Each was done with a different torque wrench as I thought the first was faulty after the first failure.

Am I missing something?

Thank you

Doh! You are not the first person who has done that. I replaced a seal on an axle one time, thought the drive flange bolts were 1/2"... they were 7/16". Ended up breaking one, replaced all 8.

Got a pic of the manual?
