Fender Trim
#1
Gurus: how do you remove the fender trim that surrounds the headlight bucket? It doesn't look like it's held in place by screws or bolts, and it can't be riveted, but I'm a little scared to try prying it off.

Thanks fellas/ladies!

Steve

Do not pry on it.You need to jack up the car and remove the front tires so you can access the 3 bolts. You need a 7/16 deep socket with a extension.Take a flashlight and look on top inside of fender you will see the nuts.

DON"T PRY !!! there are nuts behind it that have to be removed ! Not sure if they are 3/8 or 7/16 Get a deep 1/4" socket with a long extension Go in from the wheel well..If you have the plastic shield in the front you will have to remove it. Or you can try the little opening right on the side of the fender (inside the headlamp box)

Cool, thanks guys! I'll do that this weekend, at the same time that I remove the windshield. Then it'll be broken down far enough to take to the body shop.

You guys are awesome! Cool

Got the trim off, just like you guys said. The bolts are those cheap stamped ones, 7/16" socket (1/4" drive). To get the plastic guard off you need a 3/8" socket. It's kind of a pain to get the ratchet up there and I only have a 12" extension, so I stuck a flat blade screwdriver in the drive end of the extension instead of using the ratchet and it was pretty easy after that.
