Factory Tie Downs
#1
How many of you still have factory tie downs on your car? I noticed they are still on the "new Boss" Dad picked up. It started raining here or I would be posting some pics, that is if he let's me. LOL

Mine are still on. I use them to tie the car down on the trailer when I go to the track.

I know that was supposed to be the case and then Ford would give $.50 per tie down returned. This is the first car Dad has had that still had them.

Yep, volume five of Ford shop manual pre-delivery page 50-02-02;
"Remove shipping tie-down brackets (Mustang)".

My 67 and 72 both still have them. I think a majority of the dealerships didn't worry about taking them off. I originally thought there were only two styles available. I learned this weekend when taking pictures of a 73' convertible with 173 original miles that there is a 3rd design with a right angle bend to bolt to the bottom of the frame in addition to the sides of the frame. I will post some pictures in a few days.
