Expensive Desert Trip.
#1
Well got back yesterday afternoon from 4 days in Glamis Sand dunes. It turned into a expensive trip with 300.00 plus in fuel and a break down on Sundays rip threw the dunes. I was rolling along when I heard a loud clicking noise coming from the CV joint. Then before Got stopped to see if I was loosing a CV joint their was one more loud click from the CV joint popping out of its cage. I jumped out to see what happened. Well look at that! You would think after 129 trips to the desert and 17 years of off roading the stock Volkswagen trailing arms wouldn't brake like that.Big Grin Bummer I was hoping to make 2 more trips before it gets to hot. Oh well, I will fix it in the fall before next season.Just means I will have to get back on the Mach 1. Cool

I'm thinking: Sleeve it, weld it, toss in a new half-shaft, and get back out there next weekend!

Just sayin'. Wink Big Grin
