exhaust/ tip question
#1
Okay I have a h code 73 so it was a single, I went and bought the 2.5 inch kit from summit and I put on a set of hooker headers. The issue I am running into, well minus I have never put on a exhaust system is that I cannot seem to find a piar of tips to go on it. I am looking for the factory ones.

Also my rear valance is set up for down turns and I am looking to go straight out the back So i am trying to find someone that can give me the meaurement for the openings and how far each of them are from the center of tag plate.
these are the mesurements I was given and need someone to possibly verify

The cut outs are 4-1/2" wide
The measurement from center to center of the cut outs is 2' 10-1/2"
And the total length of the valance is 5' 2-1/4"

Since teh exhaust is a 2.5 inch kit I am having a problem getting tips that will fit it. If someone could throw a brother a bone that would be awesome.

I know I am the FNG here but I fill it is only fitting to ask a bunch of questions that way you dont expect anything from me,lol.

I went dual without the correct rear valence panel. I had them turn them down with no tips but I am going more for a sleeper look

This will work. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/IMM-577572/ If you don't want the "Cherry Bomb" script at the outlet end find a machine shop with a VERY GOOD horizontal band saw. This is the set up I used. Chuck

those look really close to the factory ones but they are soooo cheap. All the ones I have seen are like 40 to 50 a piece.

so did you guys buy the valance or placed them below or what. I am thinking about using my old valance and cutting the holes. I dont think downturns will look good

I don't have cutout's in my valance, and I don't think it looks too bad.

I would bye a new valance with the cut outs their cheap enough. The chances are your stock valance will warp when cutting out the cut outs. The valance with the cut outs has a lip/ridge to keep from warping.

Other than the way they mount and the fact that the inlet is 2.5 instead of 2.225, they are the same as factory. The factory tips will not bolt to a 2.5 inch pipe. I know because I bought a set and confirm there was no way to make them fit. They are good quality polished, stainless steel. As to the price, they are an absolute bargain. "You get what you pay for." is only true if you are VERY careful. Chuck
