Exhaust pipe
#1
ok well i have a 351c 4v exhaust on hooker supercomps with 3.5in collectors was thinkin of runnin a 3" xpipe with cutouts (its in jeggs and summit mag) and then neckin down to maybe 2.5 from muffler back? will that give me enough backpressure and the right size pipe? I ask for this is my 1st time doing exhaust work
Thank guys and gals for the input

According to the exhaust tech articles I've read, 3" headpipes to 2.5" tailpipes is perfectly fine. Most engines wouldn't know the difference anyway.

The mufflers you get should be offset inlet / center outlet. I recommend you hang the mufflers and get the tailpipes to fit properly, then move to your headpipes. Don't clamp anything permanently until you have the whole sytsem fitted.

For tailpipes, I recommend the Flowmaster 2.5" units, unless you have staggered shocks. IIRC, the only company that makes a D/S pipe to fit the staggered shocks is Mac's Exhaust, but that might have changed in the last couple months.

Hey, I originally resemble that comment Roy! rofl

I've got a pair of NOS Thrush glass packs if anyone is interested. I've also got at least one other set installed...I think on the M-code car.
