Document your buck tags
#1
bulb
Not too long ago Hyena429 posted up his buck tag and asked about it. Yesterday I found mine, cleaned it and took a picture. Then I got to thinking: we could document our buck tags so if anyone has any questions on theirs, there would be kind of a one-stop shopping place to see the info. So guys, post up your buck tags and whatever info you can find on them!

Info:
VIN - 1972 Sportsroof (standard), Dearborn MI
63D - 2 door sportsroof body style
09M -
167(?) - Rotation number?
6F - Bright Yellow Gold Metallic (Compliments of BT)
AC - Air conditioning
PB - Power brakes
AF - Standard Bucket Seats with Ginger Trim (Thanks again, BT).
RM - Rocker Moldings (Thanks Don)
CS - Collapsible spare tire
EC - Emissions control
FDS - Sport deck rear seat?

The 6F paint code for 1972 equates to "Bright Yellow Gold Metallic."

The AE interior code for 1972 equates to "Standard Bucket Seats with Vermilion Trim"

Stupid question: Where is the buck tag located?
Near radiator support?
Where is it accessable? between the grilll and radiator?

Thanks

Buck Tag
OK decoders have at it. Here is my buck tag

1f05m114xxx 63R 21J 848
D 5A
QM
BTRAC DE

D A

looks like how it is stamped on the tag

warranty number
1f05m114xxx

body code
63R

date code
21J

rotation number
848

ext color = grabber yellow
D

int trim code = black mach 1
5A

option codes
QM =Quarter moldings

BTRAC = 1 book says racing mirrors other book says basic trim rings and caps / dual racing mirrors (MINE HAS BOTH)

DE = dual exh

DA = ??? no da

earlier cars had D for disc brakes, later cars had PB = power disc brakes
nothing for A so I don't think the DA would be 2 items

Here is the location on my 73 Convertible, although I've heard they can be found on the passenger side too.

My buck tag is mounted with a tek screw on the driver's side radiator support, between the headlight and radiator.

ETA, same location as Mike's AKA Ole Pony.

Thanks BT. The 6F paint code makes sense because the original paint is yellow, but I wonder about the vermilion trim. The whole interior is ginger and I haven't found any vermilion in the car.

I checked again Steve, just to be sure. Still the same..AE is listed as bucket seats with Vermilion trimSmile.

Are you sure the trim code is not "AF?" That would be bucket seats with Ginger trim.
