Distributor Question
Has anyone used these guys before? I am running a Chinese HEI style right now and the timing seems to be all over the place and the advance is not adjustable.

Just looking for experience with these guys.

No experience with DUI, but it seems people do like them. Personally, I run a Duraspark with a curve kit and an MSD box.

I have experience with DUI....hic hic.
Just ask my local constabulary about my DUI experiences...

Let me check your shorts!

73 Pony,
I run Mallory Unilite Distrubitors in both my 351C and 460 engines. I had picked them both up at swap meets for next to nothing and recurved them as needed.
I always have a spare module in the tool bag just in case.
Thanks, Jay
Take a look at these and can be used with a msd box.
I 2nd what hemikiller said. I run all msd dizzys but there are more and more stories about them having problems. This is what I will switch too.
I've run one for years with no problems whatsoever. Simple set up and wiring and rock solid reliability-try their live wires too-expensive, but awesome quality.

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!
From MY experiences only.
If you want to run 14-16 degrees of initial timing on a 351C, you'll need to make sure the mechanical advance is NO MORE than 20 degrees on the crank. This has been hashed out many times in recent months. 20 degrees crank equate to a 10L slot width or .410". This 20* plus the 14-16 initial = 34-36 degrees max mechanical plus maybe 6* vacuum advance. This is what I found worked best for my 351C 4V M code with 10:1 comp on 91 octane Shell gas. That adds up to a hard pulling motor and zero ping (spark knock). My distributor is a Motorcraft original that was rebuilt completely and with a modified slot as described and I use a Pertronix Ignitor II module with matching Flamethrower coil. Springs are 1 Mr. Gasket 925D and 1 factory original heavy spring.  My alternative choice would be a Duraspark. These can be ordered to match your engine and cam I think from Performance Distributors.
I have a friend who bought one of those Chinese pieces of crap HEI things and it nearly cost him his motor. He ordered it for a 351C but the gear was for a 302 even though it was labeled as for a 351C. If you want or must go with an HEI then make sure you know what your buying. Personally I think they look like crap on nicely dressed 351C, just my 2 cents worth and I do realize some like just plain gordy!!
I have heard they work well but, HEI is soooo ugly. Reminds me of an old girl friend...... Never mind.

I heard they were pretty good for the price but unfortunately they couldn't make one for my late Aussie block with a smaller shaft size
I ended up going with a local company Ice Ignition and bought the complete setup here - https://www.iceignition.com/product/ice-...n-control/
They sell in the USA based out of Minneapolis but might be more than you're willing to pay as they're pretty much top of the line over here
