"Deny receipt" on PMs?
#1
The "search" function has shown no results, so I'll ask here:
What is the "Deny Receipt" button for next to the PMs?
What does it do?
What does it tell the sender of the mail I received?

That's a good question. I've never seen a receipt from a message I've sent.

PM sent, Mike. Deny receipt of it and let me know what it says. I'll try not to flame you.....Tongue

Sorry Ole Pony. Luxstang and I conducted an experiment, and found that when you click, "deny receipt" it simply opens the PM, as if you click "Open". Doesn't send anything to the sender to indicate that the PM was denied. So, it's basically just another way to open the PM - no function at all.

For our next project, we're gonna test the "Subscribe to Thread" feature (oh, wait, that one has already been done). Tongue

That's for sharing the results of your experiment. Sounds like another Unsolved Mystery as to why it is labeled "Deny Receipt". Wink

Edit: I just noticed that when you compose a message there is a check box at the bottom of the page where you can request receipt. I assume you checked that box when you sent the message.

Dang, no I didn't see that. So, ready to roll up your sleeves.

PM sent - deny receipt.

EDIT - I noted that my default is "return receipt requested" so I doubt this will change anything.

Got your PM, but this time the Deny Receipt box did not show up when I received the message. Go figure!
