Decals for convertibles

Very quick question... my 1972 Mustang convertible has no black stripe decal on the trunk lid. I was wondering whether a fastback 'Mach 1' stripe would fit the trunk lid? Or is there a specific decal that I have to buy instead? Thanks in advance :-)

No and sort of.

You would need to buy 2 kits. The vert trunk is wider than a fastback. So you would need to piece the stripe together on the ends about 3 inches on both sides.

Whatever you do, please use either soapy water or a solution they sell to help apply the decal. Otherwise once it's on, you can't adjust it without ruining it. Believe me I know.

The only trunk lid stripe kits released by Ford were for the Sportsroof models. As mpbsr stated in the past you would have to order a sportsroof kit and cut and massage them to get a close fit. Now there is a company (Graphic Express) that manufactures a stripe kit that is made for the coupe/convertible trunk lid. http://www.ebay.com/itm/806-1971-73-MUST...xQ&vxp=mtr

If you don't feel like buying two kits you can piece it together from one.
Here's my write up about it.
