Console Refurbish
#1
I just bought a '73 Mach 1 that came with the console loose, and for good reason. Would appreciate thoughts/experience on refurbishing and if there is a firm that offers such a service.

There is a thread and video on here that explains how to do it. It works well.

We refinished a center console and after a couple of years the paint began
to blister and flake off. I am pretty sure we followed prep procedure and used
the correct paint. Not sure what happened except maybe a bad batch of paint.

Much appreciated. After all work was done and we tore up the carpet for replacement, we discovered the car never came with a center console, no holes. Probably why the paint fell off.

What paint finish is used, Satin?

Update I started mine using satin. Don't have the car here to see how well it looks. Should be done on the weekend.

My pleasure Ed,

It's a pity we never knew each other when you lived in Brisbane i guess, but that's the way life goes doesn't it. Best of luck with your project.
