coil spring blues
#1
So I chose one of the hottest days yet this summer to attack my front coil springs in the driveway.Confused It was hot ,humid and I was sweating buckets but I got it done in about 5 hours hahaha. Talk about baptism by fire since this is pretty much the first thing I have attempted to do alone on my car. Very proud to say it went ok hahaha. my first problem was using the compressor upside down at first. when i got that figured out it preety good heheheBig Grin

Wow props to you! I just got home from working yet another 10 hours in a shop. I'm.awaiting the low 80s of next week to continue work on my car. Going tomorrow to a guys place to hopefully land a couple fenders and odds and ends cheap.

Glad you made it out safe..those compressors can be nasty if used wrong, glad enormous sweating was all that happened to you. Now go have a beer! Cheers!

yeah I was hearing that a lot about the compressor it almost made me not want to do it. I borrowed one from the shop where I got my engine rebuilt and I had no problem at all. you just cant use the cheap kind I guess. but look what this guy did. please don't try this at home hahahahaHaha

I was a little scared to do my first set too..but now I know how they work and correctly set them up I have done dozens. I used to pick up a lot of side work at my job and someone wanted struts on a Honda..well turns out he got wrong ones so I had to take springs off to change top mount. Ha I made him buy me a nice 40 dollar one for the extra time it was going to take..I love it now.

P.S. it's a fake video obviously but I hope some young kid doesnt watch that video and try to lower his ricer car like that. Now how long is it going to take to get them all off?

Just what you'd expect from someone that uses a cinder block to support a vehicle. Sometimes I'm amazed the human race has survived. I guess people like him him help to thin out the gene pool...
