Cobra Jet / SCJ engine 1971
#1
Hello Mustang owners near and far.

If you have or know someone who owns a 1971 CJ / SCJ / Drag Pack car that is missing its original engine, then I may have it.

I have had this motor for several years now. Std. bore, thick web D0VE-A, four bolt main, D0OE rods, D0OE-R heads, oil pan and other main parts.

Here is a picture of the VIN stamping on the left hand rear cylinder bank.

I am also looking for a similar block out of an early 1970 Cyclone. That block will carry the VIN 0H522268.

PM me if you have a lead.

NOTE: I neither want nor need to sell the Cobra Jet, unless it is to the owner of the car.

Happy trails all

Thanks Mike:

Keep the number on tab. I intend to restore / blueprint this engine. I will keep it as long as I own the car. I have two other CJ engines to choose from, including the ´70 SCJ that is in it now.

Not try to steal this thread, but hey mike maybe you remember a few years ago I got driver side front fender from you, after my tire blow and did my fender in. Just like to let you know I got the 72 back on the road this pass summer, and enjoy driving it to shows plus retirerment now. Still talk about you showing me around that night, and hope to run in to you again sometime. Rich

How to buy a '71-73 Mustang:
Rule #1: Assume all classic car sellers are guilty until proven innocent.
Rule #2: No classic car dealer is ever innocent; thus, they are all guilty.
Rule #3: Buy from trustworthy people: Fellow forum members. Visit 7173Mustang's For Sale forum.

Good job Kurt. I was fortunate enough to locate and purchase the original block for my Boss 351. I don't think I will ever build it but nice to have if/when I ever decide to sell.

Rich, Nice to hear from you again and to see you enjoying the Mustang!!!
I was suppose to be at Carlisle in June for the Mustang celebration (they asked if I would bring my 64.5 Indy Pace Car for display), but our exchange student is graduating that weekend. Sooner or later, we will catch up again! Mike

Do you want me to get in touch with John Blair, the administrator? He is a friend of mine?

Thanks from MotorCity Mustang!
