Austin Vert reaches out.

Hi to all,

Just wanted to ask if anyone lives in fairly reasonable, close proximity to  Sherman, Texas please?

Many thanks,

Greg. Smile

I'm about 325 miles away.  It's almost on the Texas/Oklahoma border.  I think Ray or Chuck might actually be closer.

Why - what's up?  What'cha got cookin'?

I MAY, POSSIBLY, COULD BE 10 miles south of it in Howe, TX next weekend to get some Cyclone parts. What's up? I will not have a ton of time to use. Trying to do a swing through east TX in 2 days and back home Sunday afternoon. If you find someone closer and need a guarantee go with them.

Hi Eric and Brian,

Thanks for your replies. OK - the reason i'm asking is that i am very seriously thinking of buying a '70 Dodge Challenger Vert that is currently for sale  at The Classic Car Liquidators located in Sherman Texas. ( Yeah i know, i know - going over to the dark side.  Shootself Shootself   )  If any body was fairly close by, and had some time, maybe they would be kind enough to pop into the showroom and give the car a good once over for me. I would be very grateful of course, and would be willing to pay the right money for their trouble, time and petrol.

So hey good Forum folk, let me know if this could become a reality please guys. Smile

Many thanks,

Greg. Smile

Spoke with the misses and she is traveling next weekend so that won't work for me. Now scheduled to go the weekend of March 3rd. If that time will work for you I would be glad to stop in and look for you. Send me a PM on any specifics you want examined and if you want pictures of anything. Include a link to the dealership or some details for me to locate them.

Oh man... I don't know if I could do something like that [without bringing it home for myself, that is]. whistling

I mean, there's a fine-line reason why I don't have a Challenger now instead of my Mach 1, and it's pretty much because I was able to drive a Mach 1 when I was younger, rather than just drool and admire it from my bedroom window as I did my neighbor's Challenger (which was parked right between his '74 340 Duster race car and '64 Power Wagon).

Hopefully, someone closer can hook ya up sooner than later.

Heck Yeah! thumb

The neighbor had a '70 Challenger that was metallic green with a black vinyl top - nothing special, otherwise... probably even just a 318 car.  It was just a cool-ass car, and I kept dreaming about how I'd make it mine with some cool wheels and whatnot.  Then I joined the Air Force, moved away, and it was gone by the time I'd come back, along with the yellow Duster and black Power Wagon.  If would've been smart, I would've saved up my money from the summer construction jobs and made the guy an offer... but, nope - I was just happy to have some money in my pocket and spent it accordingly on the dumb things teenagers do.  I probably could've afforded an offer of around $2600 by the end of the first summer.

I'd driven a '73 Satellite Sebring (same colors and engine, oddly enough) and loved it.  I probably could've had that car for less than $1000... had I been smart, that is. whistling
