Alignmnet Tool
Does anyone have one of the alignment tools for sale?  The little support brace that goes under the Upper control arm when adjusting Caster Camber and Toe on a Mustang?

One of these?

What do you do for front end alignment after a ground up restoration?

How do you make initial Caster and Camber sets, or do you do the final set at home with a cheap tool?

What about toe in.  Do you use the string method and have an alignment shop finish it?

On the caster camber I would not worry too much about it just to get to the front end alignment shop. You can chalk the tires, scribe a line and set the toe in with weight on tires at about 1/16" to 1/8" and should not eat the tires off getting to the alignment shop.
Maybe put the caster camber in middle of adjustment. Needs to bounce down the road a little before alignment to settle everything into place also. Factory has bump strips to bounce the front in into place before they did i
Those lift blocks are to protect your radius rod bushing and upper shock bushings from damage when you lift the car and let suspension hang. Most alignment racks lift under the control arm I believe. A block of wood on top of the frame rail under the upper control arm also works that is what I do. I forgot and left them in the other day and took off up the road and they came flying out bouncing down the road.
You should have from 1/2 to 3/4 tank of fuel, spare tire and everything in place in the trunk and the weight of driver in the seat when doing the alignment, lol. Old guy that use to do mine always told me that.

When a man is in the woods and talks and no women are there is he still wrong??
I directly measure the toe on the tire.

Here is a good method, was used for many years before modern alignment machines became the norm.
