Adjustable Sport mirror cable routing
#1
Ready to put the sport mirror and adjustment cable on and into the driver's door of my '72 fastback.
The door liner is off and the mirror is going in tomorrow.
Is there a certain way to rout the cable into the door and to where the lever will be so it won't interfere with the (manual) window operation? I could probably do a trial and error installation, but figured I'd ask the experts first. Yes, I have a hole in my door panel..............

Yes. Be sure to route the cable to the front of the door and then to the hole in the inner door panel mounting hole. There is (should be) a tab with a hole on the door frame near the top front of the inner door cavity where you can tie strap the cable. If you do not do this the window will catch the cable on its way down and not fully open. Ask me how I know :-)

Hardest part is the "backing metal tab" inside the door panel that the bezel affixes to!

I am actually replacing both mirrors with sport mirrors and did the rh manual mirror today.
Question about that cable for the left, or driver's door. I have a pretty large access opening in line where the hole for the adjuster is located in the door panel. Where does that washer go, between the door and the panel, or between the panel and the "bezel"? I am assuming that the bent tab will go into the tab cutout on the door panel?
