Added a forum to MACH1RESTORATION.COM
#1
Hello friends of the stang community. I wanted to bring some awareness to my new forum on mach1restoration.com. I would like to start by saying that in no way are we trying to compete with 7173Mustangs.com, Mach1Club.com, or Vintage-Mustang.com Instead, I am going to work with these forms to expand the Mustang community and help those in need. Us Mustang guys need to stick together and the more outlets we have to communicate, the better off all of our mustangs will be. On my forum, you can talk about anything related to your mustang. You can even post and talk about items you have for sale on Ebay and Craigslist. I encourage all new users to simply signup and post about your Mustang. You can also re-post your older posts that you've posted on other forums. I hope this helps everyone and lets work together to turn this forum into a useful tool!

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate it. Register and post anything you need on there. I am trying to help out the community and I thought opening a forum for the 71-73 would be an interesting idea to go along with my photo restoration site. Forum categories are also recommended!

After talking to the staff and other forum owners, I have decided to allow this thread to continue. Collectively, we are pleased to see more exposure for the 71-73 Mustang hobby and we feel that we would be hindering growth of the hobby by censoring other enthusiasts. We have always been all for the hobby and about the forum users so the only way to embrace that role is to not censor this post. My only concern was the possibility of splitting the crowd and not giving posts the attention from multiple members that they deserve.

We have asked Mach1restorations.com to not spam and troll for members within our pages and threads. Out of fairness to our other forum friends, I have removed the rotating banner but allowed the link to stay in our Link Directory. I don't want to have too many banners rotating above in order to give our site supporters the most exposure for their advertising dollars. With out them, a lot of what we have accomplished here would have never been possible!

Very well said B...The thing I'm curious about is why the owner of that site is so hungry to get hits on his site ? In one of his posts he had mentioned that ..The more hits the better...To be frank I think there's more than meets the eye here..Like on the post on the rear upper package tray he was looking for there was an embeded link within the picture..when I went to enlarge it ..took me right to his site..For me to start posting the same stuff on multiple sites is just to time consuming..& a waste of my time. I'm pretty cozy in my home hereSmile so if you want to see MY stuff, want my advice..etc.. come here..OR check my site..

Don't worry about the new forum. I'll shut it down right now. The very thing that I did not want to happen looks like is happening. I have the 7173 logos all over everything to show support. I don't have any alterior motives and there is not more than meets the eye. I am just trying to broadcast the hobby and help others. I'll keep quiet from now on and just keep my promotional efforts low. Sorry to piss off anyone in the community. Was just trying to help.

The best way to help others is by what you've done with documenting & tips on your site...Just like I have..You put it out there & that's that..Starting another forum ? really doesn't do much for the community Imho given the fact that a bunch already exist.

Not necessary as I stated above. We want to promote the hobby and have as many resources available as possible to the owners and fans! With that said, I do think you have a nice blog site going and something great to build on. Forums take a lot of time to build and a lot of resources to manage...I can almost guarantee that it would cut into the great blog you already have going. Sometimes opening two separate fronts can be a bad thing. There is plenty of room in the 71-73 hobby world but I would hate to see you sacrifice the nice blog site you have by splitting time with a new forum. Honestly, what I would suggest is reconstructing your forum to talk about your build! Visitors can register on your site and ask questions about your techniques and such. I think that would be great and you would still be helping to promote the 71-73 Mustang community! Just my .02 after taxes! Big Grin
