Nice! looks a lot like mine. How did you end up with a chrome bumper? How do you like the black interior? Man, I wish I had a 4spd.

Need to see more pics and more info on mods. Have you put on subframe connectors yet (if not you should.)

Check out it's 'twin' in my garage: http://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-1973-...ible--3335

Not an exact copy but close!

I think he said he made his own bumper brackets.

Hello
I put the chrome bumper on myself. I didn't like the original bumper and besides it weighed like 150 pounds.
The car started with a blue interior. But after much wasted time trying to match paint colors I stripped it all out and went to black.
Black is the easiest color to match.
No subframe connectors. I do have front and rear 15/16 sway bars.
The car feels pretty solid right now so I'm not planning on the connectors.
My front end is a little loose but that's to be expected after 40 years.
Once I pull the engine out I'll probably do some support work on the shock
towers. It looks like there have been some repairs in there already.
I need a new steering box and probably a front end rebuild.
It's all on the to-do list. Cool

Ah, interesting about the bumper. I read the other thread. I didn't realize the weight difference. To me it looks 'funny' chrome but, as you can imagine, I have looked at a near identical twin for 25 plus years so my mind is used to the stock bumper.

I would really recommend getting some subframe connectors. Sooner the better. Your body is going to flex in the center since we don't have a hard top to offset it. They braced up the underbody some but, IMHO, not enough (especially 40 years later). I know when I used to jack mine up on one corner the doors wouldn't shut. With the subframe connectors there is no problem. The ride is better too. Worth every penny.

Great looking convertible. It's great to see more 73's showing up on the site.

I'll have to take another look at the connectors. I've gotten most of the
cosmetic stuff done for now so it's on to the mechanics.
