73 Cali emission decal??
#1
I just bought a 73 Q Mustang built for California. The emission decals are orange and not the usual yellow. Does anyone make California emission decals?

Try Marti Auto works. They custom make tags based on your VIN.

A donor I had that contributed to my car fund was a 70 Cougar XR7 with "complete and functioning" Cali emissions equipment. I found a few sites and West Coast Cougars has them..... at least they did 6 years ago.

I'll look at some of my old resources just in case Marti or WCC doesnt have them. They are odd since the only folks interested are folks with Cali-cars and wanting "original" look for the respective cars.

I hope you never need to replace the gas tank.... that bladder conversion is a bit finicky and pricey even if your doing it yourself.

Hello...here is the original emissions decal from my CA 73 Q code Mach 1 with a build date of 6/73. As you can see, the decal is yellow and these are not reproduced. I talked with Jim Osborn who repros these decals and confirmed that this exact one for CA is not made. He said if I wanted to have it made it would be 1+ year lead time. Feel free to contact me for info if needed as I also have some questions relative to CA cars.

The original sticker on our 73 was orange looking. The replacement decal was yellow but all of the script was identical to the orange one so we didn't worry about it to much. The engine is an H code cleveland.
