'72 Sportroof as the "Batmobile"?
#1
Apparently, in a '73 Batman comic entitled "And a Deadly New Year!" (or something like that), A '72 Mustang fastback was used as the basis as the Batmobile.
I am not a comic-book fan, but if there are any here, it would be interesting to see this tracked down!

I saw that online they also used a corvette and other regular cars in the early 70s comics.

Here you go, a reference to Ford cars that were used in comics, one shows the 72 image that was used in Batman though it's blue and Batman's was black.

I'll see what else I can dig up.

EDIT: Just found this reference:

The reference cartoon appears to be an attempt to emulate a
73 Mach 1. Of course cartoons have liberal license for sure. (louvers) LOL
edit: I can see how the stripe on the side could be a caricature of the Boss 351 - type stripe. kinda...

Thought I'd 'bump' this one for the new folks on here.

Interesting how much detail (NOT) went into the dash, door panels and striping.
