72 Coupe Sold on Mecum Auction
#1
Hey, I just saw a real nice 72 Coupe sell on Mecum for $10500. It was a 302 auto car with A/C, also had a chin and rear spoiler. Looked to me like it had been completely restored. It was blue with a black vinyl roof, had the nasa hood blacked out. Lot number S171, beautiful car!

Wonder if she drives as tight as she looks. Those really deep brushed beauty rims look outstanding.

Looks sweet! I bet the seller had a lot more money invested in it than what is told for.

Did you also see the Grabber Blue Boss 351 that didn't sell? Hit $37K and 'the bid went on.' They kinda shuffled the car through like they were in a hurry to get it out of there - not much goo footage of the interior either.

But I swear, if I hafta sit through many more mid-60s Corvettes or '55-'57 Chevy Belairs, I'll puke.

That is what DVRs are for. I just skip through the cars that I am not interested in. The high seller for the auction was a Grabber Blue 69 Shelby that sold for $80K. I saw the Boss 351 on TV and it did not look like Grabber blue to me, although it was trimmed in argent and was a beautiful car.

That was the worst Mecum ever in my opinion. Glad I DVR'd so I could get past the crap. A 73 Coupe sold but it was during a commercial I assume it was between the 72 and the Boss.

Metallic Blue, Grabber Blue, Black & Blue - it's all the same to me. My "Rustang Vision" only lets me see 'Light Pewter.' rofl

You're right - it wasn't Grabber Blue... I honestly don't know what color it was. Medium Metallic Blue? Beats me.

I don't usually watch Mecum or Barrett-Jackson because there's just too many of the 'popular' cars going for ridiculous prices between the handful of 'cool cars that nobody wants to own.' I just flipped it on the other night because there literally was nothing else worth watching. I even sat through an episode of Overhaulin' afterward, that's how bad the programming was.
