tach
Anyone have a pair of Ginger Front Seat back covers for a 71 MACH? Hopefully without any screw holes in the lower left and right hand side....Smile

Are you talking about screw holes in the tabs in the very bottom of the seat panels? If so, that's normal.

Now, if someone popped screws at the bottom corners, yeah that's not right.

Steve,

Normal as in factory? or normal as in "everyone does that to keep them in place"? the aftermarket seat panels are devoid of any screw holes so my assumption was that they are not factory.

Normal from the factory are the two screw holes in the tabs that sit underneath the seat back. I'll see if I have a picture.

Here you go, the two panhead screws are factory. I guarantee it. Smile

Correct me if I am wrong but those are 73 seat back panels and not 71. The 71's do not have the bottom tab on them, they are just a flat panel. What I'm looking for is the 71 style.

As for the screw holes, I've seen many with screws in the lower L and R side (71 style) that seem people put there to help keep the panels in place. I would like to find 2 that don't have any holes......

Hope this helps....

Mine is a '72. I don't know about '71, I'm sure in '72 they put the tabs there because peoples' feet kept snagging on the panels and breaking them or making them come off?

I'd say PM Don @ OMS or Motorcity Mustang.

I have a '71, they were ginger, but I painted them black to re-use them. Mine do have the two screw holes on the lower edges. From what i have seen, from the parts I have been looking at, that is where the screw holes were meant to be. If you can get a hold of an aftermarket set you can always paint them. the color of the seat backs were not exactly the same as the seats anyhoo.
