71-73 Mustang Rubber Bumper License Plate Brackets
#1
as an effect of being a CALIFORNIA citizen, i have to obey state laws. and one in which is requiring a front license plate bracket. over 10 years ago when i got a ticket for not having a front license plate bracket, and when they repo these things yet, i had to come up with something. i just took a sheet metal and bolt my license plate to it and bent it, that thing is old and rusty so i had to buy something local.

in my hometown, they have NPD in ventura so i had buy it while i was in town. but geez, they look absolutely ugly to have that front plate there. on 71-73's chrome bumper they are very tilted and less noticable and look alot better. on the rubber bumpers they are almost straight up and down so i tried to bend it as much as possible and it looks okish now. heres a pic of the ugly bracket installed.

how does your plate bracket look on your 08? on my wife's 07gt the bumper/bumper cover has two holes in it that are threaded and just have two screws holding it in. pretty dumb as i heard the modern mustangs were made without front plates. and the states that require them just make holes and thread them to mount them. maybe certain states came up with a bracket?

can you show a picture of this bracket?

LOL Should have realized that was coming Roy.
Plus I should have stated that YES the lplate on the 08 is ugly just because it is two holes drilled into the bumper and the plate is slapped on.

Here in Germany my 2010's front plate is just screwed in to the front bumper. I have seen some with an actual plastic bracket for a stateside plate though.

The only thing that keeps me from saying the plate looks retarded is the fact that its a german plate....I think the german plate is kinda cool. Cool

The difference is the German plate looks like it conforms to the contour of the bumber.....where my plate on Bullett is just a plate stuck on the front.

here's the wife's 07 license plate screwed right into the bumper!

when i was mounting my tires on the wheels yesterday at the base hobby shop, i was a IMPORT who just mounted his license plate behind his grill. i think that would look better on my MACH 1 than that ugly bracket.

That bumper plate looks terrible mate you should fix it soon! My wife's bumper was fixed last month and we made sure that it had bumper cover so as not to deteriorate fast. I suggest you buy also for your bumper on some online shops out there. But I don't go for the price, I go for the quality because when I bought a cheap item before, it died up on me soon.
