429scj???

Based on what I can see and read, I don't think this is as advertised... I sent a note to the seller on the A/C and the apparent 3:25 rear end... Hopefully they will change the listing accordingly.

Ken, looks like a well optioned car. Noticed it had the convenience group and Deluxe Seat Belt/warning light options. Those would include the two ultra rare "Park" and "Belt" lamps we had discussed in an earlier post.
But with factory AC and the absence of a 3:91 or 4:11 rear gear the Super Cobra Jet 429 goes out the window. Maybe he is just not familiar with Ford products. After all a lot of people still believe all 71-73 Mustangs were Mach1's, all had Boss 302's, or Boss351's, or all were Big Block's (I wish). Hopefully just an oversight on his part.

\he has not responded back to me yet, I just gave him a heads up as it was bid upto $20k last I looked. I hope the would be buyers know what they are bidding on/getting. I agree, nicely optioned, but that rusted hole in the rear tail light/panel area is an oddity... Not something you usually see as rusted through before many other areas... I would want to see this one in person before putting down any of my wife's hard earned $$$$....

This is a strange car. It's definitely not an SCJ and the documentation that the owner provides backs that up so why advertise it as something it obviously isn't?

Can anyone explain the rust on the upper drivers side quarter panel? I've never seen rust in this location before and can't figure out how it could happened.

Put the new Ford Racing "Boss 302" finned valve covers and it will be. No one will know the difference.Tongue Chuck

Don, if the air cleaner lid says it's a Boss 302 then it must be! whistling But I also would do as Chuck suggested and get the new FRP Boss 302 valve covers to go along with it. That's really all it takes to convince the "Experts" at the car shows.
To use one of Eric's phrases, I've seen a lot of piles of rust in the shape of a Mustang, but I have never seen a hole in the inside top part of a quarter panel like this one has. Would sure make me look ALOT closer at this one before getting tangled up in the kind of $$ he wants!

I can't believe that it's up to $28k

Notice that he has updated the listing and asks to email him so he can explain why he believes it's an SCJ.

Well, I am still not satisfied with the change to the original add. The seller can state "why he feels it's an scj" all he wants, the presentation and documentation states otherwise...
