I had to change my sump -- what I got was a kit... I didn't see any "all in one"

I don't believe there are any one-piece oil pan gaskets for Cleveland's, unless they have them in Australia.

Nige,  The 351C, 351M and 400 engines used the same oil pan gasket (DOAZ-6781-D) through the 80's when the last of the 351M and 400 powered vehicles rolled off the assembly line.  Like Don C posted, unless Australia has a secret one piece pan gasket we don't know about, you will have to use the four piece gasket set.   Smile

Sounds strange to say but it comes down to a emissions related issue. The 335 series engines are more than great engines but Ford knew that the 351C was not going to be able to meet the  increasingly stringent EPA emissions regulations. So at the end of the 1974 production year the 351C was gone. The 351M/400 engines were able to meet the new regulations with catalytic converters, feedback carburetors and a dizzying array of under hood gizmos that defied description and  the tech's sanity. By the end of the 1982 production year the last of the 351M/400 powered vehicles rolled off the assembly line. Ford had been grooming the 351W which could be made to comply with the present and future EPA reg's without completely reengineering the engine. So it was the recipient of improvements such as the one piece rear main seal (7/83) and the single piece oil pan gasket (phased in starting with 1989 production). These were things that more than likely would have made it to all the 335 engines had they remained in production.  The 351M/400 engines went out of production after 1982 with the same 2 piece rear seal and the 4 piece pan gasket the 351C started with in 1970.
Would have been nice to have but was engineering dollars Ford was not going to spend on a engine family that was on the way out!

.... and to add to Steve's post, there isn't sufficient demand in the aftermarket for a one piece pan gasket. To be honest, it isn't really needed, as the 351C pan seals very well with the factory bits.

I agree.  I have put enough pans on these things to wonder what the benefit of a one piece would be.

Good luck!
