351 2V Air Cleaner with Snorkel Gift

Well, I received yet another Christmas gift, and it's not a White Elephant. Jim (Coilwire) saw my post about my snorkleless 2V air cleaner a while back, and sent me a complete air cleaner WITH SNORKLE free of charge... and wouldn't even let me pay for the shipping. I mounted it on the intake just before I removed it:

   

It's larger than the one that was on the engine when I bought it:

So I'm wondering about the difference. Different year, maybe? I'm very happy with how it looks, and can't wait to get everything put back together so that it can sit proudly on top of the rebuilt motor. THANKS, JEFF!!!

You don't mean you are going to put that 2V air cleaner on your new 4V motor, do you?

Thats a 71 air cleaner. The smaller air cleaner came on 72-73s. Mike

Hahaha. That would be rather deceptive if I kept the 2V air cleaner on top of the new 4 barrel carb. I kind of like the idea, though...

Well, with the paint scheme, everyone thinks she's a racer, so it'll be hard to turn her into a "'sleeper", but hopefully, I'll be able to at least bring her power up to par with her looks.

Low buck, touring style, '73 Convertible "rolling restoration", 351c, 2v heads with a shave and a haircut, Performer intake, Holley 650(ish), roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, stainless valves, Duraspark / Motorsports MSD, T-5 conversion. 1-1/8" front, 3/4" rear swaybars KYB shocks and some home brewed subframe connectors. Future plans; JGC steering box, Cobra brakes and... paint, interior, etc.

When I die I want to die like grandpa, peacefully in my sleep... not screaming, like his passenger.
