1973 Mach 1 Mustang
After driving a 1998 mustang since 2000 I decided it was time to start looking for a classic mach 1. After several months of looking around southern Indiana I finally found what I was looking for in this 1973 Mach 1. The body was in fairly good shape and the engine was strong. The interior did need (and still does need) some attention. First thing I slapped on was the magnum 500 rims and a new set of tires. Next up was some misc. exterior trim pieces: grill emblem, antenna, door handles, front fender extensions, gas cap, rear spolier re-painted and rear window molding. The interior I am still working on, but have installed an 8 track player, package tray, and the rear quarter trim pieces. I am also in the process of cleaning up the engine. I have added a chrome air cleaner, chrome valve covers, cleaned up some loose wiring (still a work in progress) and added some Ford blue paint.

I also have a very bad rattle in the front end when I hit bumps at slow speeds I am trying to figure out, so any and all suggestions will be helpful.

Will try and keep my garage up to date, and thanks for taking a look at my car.

Good looking Mach.

Jeff T.

Low buck, touring style, '73 Convertible "rolling restoration", 351c, 2v heads with a shave and a haircut, Performer intake, Holley 650(ish), roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, stainless valves, Duraspark / Motorsports MSD, T-5 conversion. 1-1/8" front, 3/4" rear swaybars KYB shocks and some home brewed subframe connectors. Future plans; JGC steering box, Cobra brakes and... paint, interior, etc.

When I die I want to die like grandpa, peacefully in my sleep... not screaming, like his passenger.

Looks good. Silver appears to be your favorite color by looking at stable. For the front end noise check your shock absorber bushings. They will dry rot and fall out. Mine did the same thing. Also sway bar bushings, etc.

I replaced the sway bar bushings, and no change. Haven't replaced the shock absorber bushings, but they look intacted. Any other suggestions? I appreciate the info. Thanks
