1972 window sticker
#1
The original window sticker I got with my mach 1 is in bad shape. I'm trying to read all the items listed. Does anybody know...
1. How is ram air listed. does it say "dual ram induction"?
2. My car has the Tach, but the window sticker list doesn't seem to mention it. Shouldn't it say something like "instrument group"?
3. Anybody know where to fing examples of window stickers for 72's that list all the options prices? The right half of my window sticker is missing and I've not been able to find all the info.

Marti Auto Works.

http://www.martiauto.com/windowsticker.cfm

Or just spend the bucks for the top Marti Report - window sticker will come with it among other things.

Good luck! Ray

Your window sticker makes no mention of Ram Air, yet you said your car is a Ram Air car? Why isn't it listed as an option. I'm going through same question on other thread about Marti Reports. Clearly Ram Air hoods were an option, yet Marti reports don't list them either.
My damaged window sticker has "California Emission System" listed and also lists "Dual Ram Induction..." but I can't read the rest. I'm confused...

Ram air was not available on 4v engines in 72. The sticker shown above is for a car that did not come with ram air from the factory.

Specifically, only 351-2V engines could be optioned with ram-air in 72 & 73, and it was listed as "dual ram induction"

If your car is a factory 4-v, it did not come with ram air.

It is a factory 2V. Window sticker does say Dual Ram Induction. I still wonder why so many cars in Marti report section of website say they are 1972 4V, with ram air ( only available with 2V in 1972, must not be true) and it"s not mentioned on their Marti...

The ram air on my car was added later, the NASA hood was standard.

NASA hood standard on 351- powered machs in 72. 302-powered Machs came with flat hood as standard, with NASA hood as a NO COST option.( All non-functional, of course.)
Always seemed stupid to me to do it that way.

Ram air was an option in 72 & 73 on 351-2v only: included underhood components, tutone paint ( matte black or matte argent) and "351 RAM AIR" decals, along with twist-type hood pins.

73 offered the hood paint and pins as an option WITHOUT the ram air components...the only year to do so. I surmise this was done so a dealer or customer could add the ram air components after the sale, and the car would then have an authentic and complete factory-correct "ram air" package for 4-V cars. It was a way to skirt the legalities of offering the ram air on 72-73 4-V cars, which Ford was not allowed to do...as they only certified the 2-V engine for sale with ram air.

No factory Ram Air on 72-73 351C 4V Mustang is correct. Ford techs botched the testing for 4V by tuning up the engine in the middle of the EPA testing cycle and EPA would not pass the car. Why FORD chose to not to rectify is not clear. It may have been time, money, or ????? I have verified this with several source from that time period including Dearborn FORD employees.

There is conflicting info on this as some early 72 3514V cars did get ram air - rumor is pre 1/1/72
Even the marti book says 2 and 4 V for 72 and all 2 V in 73.

But the original posters question was on window stickers and Marti reports
It would be listed on those documents as an option if it was factory installed.
