I think that is the first Sprint I have seen with a NASA hood. We all have seen how the sprints with flat hood had the blue and red strip in the hood. Does anyone have a Ford picture of how the Q code Sprint should be? What is there just does not look right. The NASA hood came with the Q code option but not the hood locks that was part of the black out option.
Here is a flat hood sprint. ![]() delete account When a man is in the woods and talks and no women are there is he still wrong?? ![]() David

Not so positive on this one.
From what I remember, the hood should be the normal Sprint hood. If the Q code Sprints did ever receive a non-functional ram air hood, it would have probably been all Wimbledon White. Here is a better link of that ad. If that car is a Q Sprint (B Package) and isn't too rusty or full of bondo - I think it is an excellent buy. Ray, the info I have doesn't support the NASA hood as part of the Sprint package with the Q engine. The 65-72 Ford MPC only shows one part number for the hood stripe on the Mustang Sprint which would be for the flat hood. There was a co worker of mine that had a B package sportsroof Q code 4sp and his had a flat hood. With ram air not even being available on the Q engine when these cars were built, the NASA hood is almost a non issue. I believe it was a popular add on just like on 71-73 non Sprint Mustangs.
According to Daniel Russell from the Sprint Registry, the dealer literature he has indicates the Ram-Air option was not available with the Sprint package and it specifies the NASA hood as not available on Sprint Mustangs. Q code Sprints should have the flat hood, never seen a factory NASA hood on a Sprint. I have a orig Sprint brochure and it doesn’t mention it in regards to Special package B.
