Guys ,

I'm detailing my 72 351CJ at this moment and have the following question.

they used some inspection decals under the hood , did they use paper decals or was it made from plastic or something like that ??

thanks for your help.

John

I found the whole kits on eBay. They came with all the engine compartment decals. jack instructions, the whole nine yards. I got a kit for my Torino and Mustang off there. I'm sure a few venders on here have the kits.

John,
They look like ordinary paper decals but maybe special kind that can withstand high temp. I believe the kit oldmountain speaks of does not include the AirCleaner cover engine size decal(s), valve cover engine code decal, and the firewall inspection letter decals. Also think you'll need to get the A/C decal seperate from the kit if yours came with A/C.

That's right. It doesn't contain the air cleaner cubic inch decals. They are available from the same eBay seller though. Also the AC decal was available. I got all the decals from the same seller.

While this company doesn't make all the decals for under the hood, the ones they have are the very best available, ECSautomotive.com. Next is Osborn-reproduction.com. Decals on these cars is a bit tricky as they vary with production date and options (emissions decal and jack use decals for example). Another source is Ohio Mustang Supply, Don is very experienced with these cars. Chuck

I know for sure they were not high gloss plastic. I've got a Mach with the originals and they are just paper type.
