This is my first crack at restoring a 1971-1973 Mach 1. Originally was an H-Code, 351-2v, medium green metallic. I put a 429-4v from a 1969 Thunderbird into it for additional power. Added AC, Grabber Green paint job, black Mach 1 interior, stripes and decals, spoilers, honeycomb grille, pop-off gas cap, Flowmasters and dual exhausts. I drove it for an episode of the Great American Muscle Car in 2002. Even though it had the monster 429 motor, it was not as fast as the 71 M Code, 351-4v or the 72 R Code, 351 HO. I've seen it on e-bay a few times since then. Learned a lot about these vehicles on this my first try.

Per your question, no I'm not tempted to buy it back. The paint job on this car was 10+. But I was not impressed with the 429 motor. It is "the wedge" version of Ford's 429, the type put in 60's Thunderbirds and Lincolns. Nothing close to the 71 429 CJ/SCJ. And, what is more, it was a one-wheeled wonder.

But it was fun creating the car, nonetheless.
