1971 rear window with defrost
#1
If its going to be that big of a pain to find the switch, indicator light, and relay how much could i get for this window if its this rare it has some factory tint and wires for it. Unless anyone has the parts i need to do the switch what would they run me.

This is more than a hobby, its a Passion, its a way of life.

First of all, running a relay a switch and wiring is really not a big deal at all. If this is not for a concours restoration, there is no need to find factory parts. You only need to tie into the fuse block for an ignition hot only wire and that will only power the relay. The window defroster can draw all of it's power right off of the battery or a function box added to the fenderwell (which is useful for wiring up electric fans, and stereos too) If you can't envision the circuit I can draw one up for you, but it really is very straight forward.

I suspect all the concern on the other thread is the fear of starting a fire if you use the original harness to carry the load. As long as you run a relay and the proper gauge of wire, you should not increase the load on the factory wiring more than just a few amps.

Now if you want concours . . .I can't help you other than to say your car didn't come with it, so how concours can it be? There are lots of Mach 1 Clones.. Some Boss 351 clones, but I have yet to see a factory rear defrost tribute car!

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!
