1971 Mach 1, Wimbledon White, 429 CJ J Code
This 1971 Mach 1 in Wimbledon White, with a black Mach 1 interior, J Code, 429 CJ was by far the biggest challenge for me in restoring 1971-72 Mach 1's.
The restoration pictures perhaps can give you an idea of what was involved. One of the most satisfying moments was--after pulling the motor out for refreshment--finding that the manufacturer's sequence numbers on the block matched the numbers in the VIN. I started the restoration in early 2005 and completed it in late 2006. A friend in northern Alberta just had to have this J Code for his collection; so I passed it on to him and started looking for a 1972 Mach 1 R Code (351 HO) to restore. Found one in Grabber Blue; finished it and passed it on to the same friend as well. Northern Alberta has at least two of the fastest 71-73 Mach 1's in North America. That story at another time.

Once again a real nice car. Wow Tim you've done a few of these.

Low buck, touring style, '73 Convertible "rolling restoration", 351c, 2v heads with a shave and a haircut, Performer intake, Holley 650(ish), roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, stainless valves, Duraspark / Motorsports MSD, T-5 conversion. 1-1/8" front, 3/4" rear swaybars KYB shocks and some home brewed subframe connectors. Future plans; JGC steering box, Cobra brakes and... paint, interior, etc.

Tim, you know how I want to do my car so you know I'm drooling over this one! Got any interior pics? I'm still undecided if I'm going to go black or stick with the original Ginger. Maybe I'll do black with a few Ginger appointments.

Don:

I think I do have interior pix of this car. Should I add them to this post or just send them to you in private? Thanks for your interest and comments. Tim

Don: I've removed two pix of this Mach 1 and added two of the interior; one of the front seat/dash, the other of the back seat.
Hope this will give you an idea of what a black interior looks like. Enjoy. Hope your restoration is proceeding.

Very, very nice looking car. The way it's parked on a grassy slope towards the water makes me nervous though...LOL.
