Nothing like a quarter million dollar used car....it's not likely they are going to find a big market for it.

You'd think with an asking of 250K they could put some effort into the listing....

I didn’t even look at the listing. What a joke, 250k for that? Ya right. I just wish theses guys would quit listing theses other year Mustangs here, plus one as ridiculous as this!

Most of all I would like them to stop call them "ShelbyS2 or "Shelby GT500" or whatever. That there is a replica of a movie car and not a 1967 Shelby GT500, pure and simple.
If that was an original Shelby to start with as they claim, then that thing is a crime against humanity.
People got so brainwashed into thinking that is what a GT500 looks like.
I've heard kids look at my friend's original 1968 GT500 and claim that it wasn't original because it didn't look like that plastic car from the movie.

I am however not dissing those "gen 2 Eleanors" at all as I like them, They're just not what they claim to be.

Luxstang, agree with you on the over done, long in the tooth, " Eleanor" thing. Seams as though anybody and everybody had done or is working on their version of this car. Guess there is a scratch for every itch out there. I know here as a general rule no one is chastised for modding what IS your car. Which also means no one on this forum that I know of would take a Boss or 429 car and gut it so as to build their version of an Eleanor. There are too many entry level cars to perform that operation on!
I may have missed it in the text, but I never could determine if they actually started with a real 67 GT500. The Shelby signature (If Authentic) on the dash makes me wonder. The Shelby's from that era had a Shelby serial number in addition to the Ford Vin. There is not a infinite number of these cars left.
Attrition from normal wear and tear, totaled from accidents and others just "Tossed" and hauled to salvage yards didn't help. Back in the 70's and 80's a lot of these type cars were considered just another old car that sucked gas and to be avoided.
If they are going to churn out these cars and expect $250,000.00 they could at least start with a Dynacorn body!   Smile

It is a Shelby continuation car, one authorized by the Shelby corporation. These are either rebodied Mustangs or Dynacorn cars, built under authorization to use the Shelby nameplate.
A true 67 Shelby, if restored, would go for at least this amount of money if not more.

Watched a true 67 GT 350 go for $90K-ish last night on the B-J Palm Beach auction.

This is slightly off topic and solely my own opinion but I think Shelby showed some real douchebag behavior with these Eleanors.
It was a car designed for a movie, which they called a Shelby.
That was reason enough for Shelby to claim that they owned the design of the car AND the name Eleanor and as far as I know they even sued Halicky's widow for the use of the name.
Why?!? He had nothing to do with it whatsoever and those limited "continuation" cas that were licensed by Shelby are just ridiculous. There was nothing on those cars to even justify a "continuation" as that car never was a Shelby.
Basically it seems Shelby claimed that the design and the name belonged to him, only because they called it a Shelby in the movie. Well, wow!
I always thought that Shelby went out on a limb with this.
