1973 Mach 1 - Q code
Vehicle was purchased by current owner in 1978 for $2,000.00. It has been in various stages of fix, repair, pull out of ditch, fix, replace, etc for the last 30 years. Up until the wedding 15 years ago it ran and got about 6 mpg. The tires seemed to spend a lot of time going around in circles without the vehicle going anywhere.

Now it's time for a real fix up with the time off that my last employer has choosen to give me involuntarily.

Just finished, kind of, the rear end assembly. List of things done so far.
Gas tank replaced - straps also
Cut leaf springs - front bolt wouldn't move.
Purchased new leaf springs
New shackels and bolts
Pulled axles - removed wheel bearings - new wheel bearings
New differential vent tube
New brake lines on differential
New rear brake line
New parking brake lines
New brake parts
Rebuilt wheel cylinder
New sway bar end links
Sand, grind all sheet metal - used a bazillion little dremel discs. Primed and painted underside

Moved to inside of rust bucket...
* - removed all interior parts except headliner and dash
* - discovered two mice nests - inhabitants executed
* - cut out cancer on drivers side.
* - primered anything that was shiney after sanding/grinding

Ordered an OEM door hinge from Motor City Mustang - great part, great shipping.
Ordered set of floor pans from a Ohio Mustang - parts on back order. Great communication though. They've kept me up to date on the status.

Working on rocker panel now. Sanding, grinding, sanding,.... Creative sheet metal work with some novice welding. So far welding is where it won't be seen ever...
