Got the Mach 1 on the trailer - Of course i went racing today

all i did was change from cheap deutch tech/summit brand drag shocks (still good but not super great) and 14PSI instead of 16 or higher (12 was too low and i was whoppling on the track at 12).

almost .2 sec faster in just shocks.

Nice mach!! Need to bring a cam and record it making a run...Would love to hear it...Funny how little things like drag shocks ..coil overs and such...make so much diffrence in the quarter mile time...You runing 3.50 gears?

Congrats... on both counts! It really helps to free the chassis on acceleration.

Low buck, touring style, '73 Convertible "rolling restoration", 351c, 2v heads with a shave and a haircut, Performer intake, Holley 650(ish), roller rockers, screw in studs, guideplates, stainless valves, Duraspark / Motorsports MSD, T-5 conversion. 1-1/8" front, 3/4" rear swaybars KYB shocks and some home brewed subframe connectors. Future plans; JGC steering box, Cobra brakes and... paint, interior, etc.

When I die I want to die like grandpa, peacefully in my sleep... not screaming, like his passenger.

i now have 3.70's i just haven't updated my signature. the funny thing is, on my first pass, i of course had to get use to get the groove of racing again (first pass anxiety), so i pre staging and active my 2 step at 3800rpms and 12psi in the tires. when i pop the clutch my front tires pull off the ground and i scare the crap out of myself almost literally Big GrinTongueBig GrinTongue. this is the ONLY time yesterday where i held onto the button on launch where my line lock and 2 step were being activated.

even with this mild motor, i'm taping the limits of being a sportsman racer. i just got my competition number and membership on friday. once the new stroker comes, i'm going to have to be ready for the bigger boys cuz i'm going to surpass the 12.0 easily.

Yup right at the limit...Break past the 11's and they will shut you down and make you get a roll cage..lol...Sounds like you got a great set up...i bet if you had 410 gears you would be getting close..lol...How many ponys you got? around 500ish? What motor you runing in that beasty? Got to love the line lock..lol

When I get my stroker in you shouldn't use too much gear so I'm gonna stay with this gear. I have a mild 466 I pieced together when I was 19 years old, over 10 years ago. I was gold by builders I probably have around 450-475 HP and a whole lot more torque.

I plan on getting a toolbar installed soon. Just need to find someone who can weld in the bar from auto weld.

Awww i see...I was thinking you still had the gears you stated on your profile..hehe...Which with them gears would take 500 hp too run low 12's hehe...But 370 are great..plus i keep forgeting "unlike most mustangs today} our transmissions in final gear usualy only run 1:1 in last gear..the new mustangs got higher ratio and can run lower gears thanks too there fine tremic 5 speed tranmissions..lol

love the drag races..We go all year til they close..lol...Sometimes too watch the big boys run...John force..Robert height and all..But usualy just the local bracket races...My im helping a bud here and there with his drag cars going right now..But they are chevys...but will be monsters..One is a 1967..other a 1970 with the coil over rear end..tci 400 good up too 1000hp...with the scatter shield and everything..roll cage and all tin inside....big block chevy...But he planning on about 750hp Not too wild..But it will be a head jerker....hunting for the right heads to put on it now...He thinkin about trick flow....nice car..im thinkin about runing my stang..But it won't even run close as yours or his will..lol...I got stock 9inch rear end traction lock and should be runing about 425 horses too my 4v cleveland ...im putting a 5.25 lift comp cam...and holley 750....I cant wait thou...lol

What shocks did you use one the fronts? I need some help on my 60 foot times. Only getting about 1.90 now

i went to calverts. and since my motor is so heavy, i had to go to a higher quality 90/10.

i was using 90/10 summit drag shocks that are adjustable, and summit rear shocks in the rear as well.

i'm selling them if you are interested. i'm also wanting to get rid of the slapper bars.
