July 2013 COTM

I special ordered my 73 convertible in spring of 1973, after selling my 72 convertible to my sister who sold her old car to a friend (and meeting my wife in the process,) her mom bought my sisters old car and when we dropped it off I took my now wife for a ride in my new MUSTANG.
I wanted some different options on my new Mustang like ; 351 4V 4 speed (one of 293 built), instrumentation group, convenience group, decor group, console, forged aluminum wheels/F70x14 tires, color keyed racing mirrors, power steering and power brakes and competition suspension.
Have been showing my car at the MCA shows for about 25 years and have won many awards and in 2006 won our conservator award (we were the 21st person to win this in the concours trailer class) We are one of a few who still drive our car(in that class). We drive it to local shows (under 100 miles) and to local cruise nights. I want my car to look like it is not driven but I want the pleasure of driving it.
Our car was featured in Mustang Monthly a while back and Mustang Times. If you google Larry and Starr Kennedy 73 Mustang convertible the WHOLE story still comes up.

I'm sure I have seen it a some MCA shows. What a beautiful car after 40 plus years. Has the odometer come anywhere close to rolling over?
I went over 100K on the sprint a few years back and I cannot even remember when I did in the 72 Mach1.

Larry: nice to see you in the forum. For everyone else: this is a spectacular car with every detail down to perfection. I referenced it for correct details many times while I was restoring my 73 vert.

Very nice original car.

-And a rare one too with the CJ-4spd combo in a ragtop.

Do you have the Marti report? It would be intersting to see.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my car.
I have a little over 56,600 original miles on my mustang.
The engine has never been apart, just cleaned...
When I ordered my car I had to put a $500.00 deposit down. The owner of the dealership would not ordered it without the deposit (even though he grew up with my mother) because he did not want to get stuck with a 4 speed car.
I do have the Marti report I will be posting it in the section with the other Marti reports. Larry

Of course I like 351 4V 4 speed converts but I even like the pic of the garage. Cool Motorcraft sign.
