Burn Out
#1
We are ready to do a burn out with the Mustang.
Forum members have in the past asked for a burn out.
The requests came in after we installed a freshly rebuilt
never fired quench 4V Cleveland long block purchased
from Don of OMS. We just installed a 3.50 'posi' also
from Don and this setup coupled with the wide ratio toploader
is primed for a burn. I need new tires anyway so it could not be
a better scenario. Problem being the Grandé is likely the only
one in San Francisco bay and I don't want to be "recognized"
if you get my drift. So public property and private parking lots are
out of the question. I could ask the staff at Moffet Airfield if I could
use one of their 9,000+ foot runways, but probably not.
What say you?

Yup...Get out of town..And never burn out next to side walks..schools..or trailer parks.....You can get a instant reckless driving ticket for it...and car impounded and loss of drivers license........But if you burn out where there is no side walks...no schools or trailer parks..Worst they can do is a 1 degree neg..Which is payable..You keep your license...and you're car...But you do get a hell of a ticket..."All counts on the cop you get"....I got the book thrown at me for burning out...and im lucky the cop did not realize i burned out close to a trailer park and sidewalks......640 dollar ticket for a first degree neg.{shakes head} Glad i could defur it..Not on my record...woot.

Get out of town, find some country back road. I find back roads close to farms a good candidate. Cops usually expect that kind of stuff "down on the farm" and hell, around my way every farm road is scattered with black marks.

I practice my burnouts and holeshots right in front of my house. Big Grin god i love living in the country! I go up to my neighbors house to turn around and usually leave him a nice cloud of smoke and some melted rubber in front of his houseTongue He usually returns the favor in his challenger or duster. I have some great neighbors. Guy at the end of the road has a 72 Coupe he's had since high school and i usually try to do a nice burnout in front of his house anytime he is outside. He usually returns the favor also with his 90 mustang 5.0 , 07 mustang gt, or his 72 coupe.

But if you live in the city, take a little trip outside city limits into the country and have some fun.

Is everything broken in and ready for that abuse?

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

I live in the country too,so lots of places to not rile the neighbors.I have a guy about 2 mi. down the road that used to own our vintage mach 1,everytime I go by his house + he's out in the yard I get the circular finger tire burn signal,he enjoys it when I oblige him.Big Grin What about a local racetrack?

There's a large pavement area behind the Winn-Dixie that's not visible from the road. I've burned out the last run on old tires there.

Probably better to go out of town though.

Is there a dragstrip nearby?
