Look at this diagram created by @71fast, I’m not sure it will fully answer your question, but might help: Can you post a pic of the “speaker wires” going to the engine compartment? That might help identifying them.

Look at this diagram, it shows + light voltage verses - ground for each bulb. Don’t forget, don’t replace the Alt. Bulb with an LED light, the system uses the incandescent bulb in that circuit as its indicator and the LED defeats the purposes of the warning function.

It depends on whether you’re trying to restore your car back to the original condition it was in when it was new. That device, along with that red box you see in your glove box, is part of an emission control system on your car. Based on that, you should have your answer.
