NOS argent silver styled wheel covers.

Sorry, Fastback! I’m not ready to part with them yet! If they weren’t in such good condition, I might. Had them for 52 years, kinda hard to part with them.

NOS argent silver styled wheel covers.

I’ve seen similar listings in the past. I quickly realized my situation wasn’t unique. My experience was at a Firestone tire and alignment place in Missouri in 1973. My college days. My original 15” “styled steel wheel covers” as Ford called them are in great shape since I purchased mag wheels...

NOS argent silver styled wheel covers.

Don’t take your car to an alignment shop without explaining they are wheel covers. They’ll put their impact wrench on it and do this to them and then move them to the back axle and not admit they did it. Ask me how I know.

    Question on Space Saver Spare

My space saver tire was used twice back in the late 70’s mid 80’s and never used again for 30+ years. I decided to inflate it to have it removed from the rim to mount a smaller 14” tire to use as a reliable spare. About by an hour or two after inflating it at home prior to a trip to the tire...

Power steering hose routing in engine bay

Like bkdunha, my 12/71 built 72 Mach1 has the long hose with bracket mounted above the brace. I’ve never heard of a logical reason why the longer hose was used as mine came with the P/S cooler from the factory so I’m not sure why the long hose was deleted in 5/72 in favor of the shorter hose...

    New owner, new to forum

Being the original owner of my 72 Mach, somehow Ford corporate tracked me down 9 years, 6 states and 3 moves from the dealer where I bought it and they sent me a new, redesigned fan to replace mine. I was astonished!

    New Build Thread Feedback/Question

Midlife, I anticipated your response to be “No, you ARE the only one” given your keen sense of humor…

    Black 72 Mach 1 - Let's Ride

Nothing like the depth of a polished black paint job. Good luck with your new acquisition! (The rear spoiler is on backward).

    Concept

Interesting concept from 1968. Kinda wild how close those body lines are.

    What happened to...................

I am in the camp that believes short, to the point responses are preferable to sharing minutia and rambling details that don’t support the question directly. I learned the value of direct messaging to request details from a contributor I didn’t understand as opposed to posting questions that...

Off the shelf 3rd member that drops into our cars?

Do you need a set of M/T finned aluminum valve covers for your engine too? I have a set for a 351C.

    How does this work?

When I took my then brand new 72 Mach 1 to Ford for a warranty issue, a sage, elderly mechanic (I was a college kid , so he may have been all of 35) took that vacuum delay valve off and showed it to me and said the smartest thing you can do is to put it in your right hand and throw it as far as...

Headlights intermittently turning off and on.

I purchased that same relay harness and the fuse blew after using it for an hour or so. I replaced that fuse with another spade type fuse after pinching the contacts inside the boot to ensure good contact. No problems since then, but if it happens again I’ll go the circuit breaker route...

Stumped- Can't Figure out Why Car Won't Run...

Halon works quite well with electrical fires as well, and as you noticed, no cleanup required. Halon doesn’t extinguish by starving/displacing O2 and lowering surface temps like a CO2 unit. The halon interferes with the free radical reactions occurring at the fuel/flame interface. If the fire is...
